Glenn,
Thank you so much for the excellent response and service to my Crownline this past Memorial Day weekend! Because of your company, my family and friends could celebrate and enjoy the holiday as we had hoped. As many have experienced, there's nothing more frustrating than having problems with your water-craft after your family has traveled to town with anticipation of an enjoyable holiday weekend on the water. Being from out of town myself, I was so thankful for the marine patrol that recommended your company to me. I appreciate you and your staff's willingness to get my craft back in operation on such short notice and at closing time for you! You saved our weekend!
I also want to let you know that my local Crownline dealer is taking care of the issues you identified from your thorough inspection of my craft. Without you going the extra mile in not only identifying the issues, but showing and educating me on the consequences of not correcting them, I would have come into some major expense down the road.....Thank You!!!
For the fine workmanship and ownership your company displayed in getting my craft back in service, you have a loyal client, and ABC Marine comes highly recommended by me!
Thanks again,
Graham Rhodes

Glenn,
First off I would like to say it was a pleasure meeting you and Megan on March 2nd, 2011. My family and I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Glenn and Megan the evening of March 2nd during a boat purchase. Glenn was very friendly and professional and went over the boat from bow to stern telling me all he knew about the boat ( it was a former customer's boat ) and trailer and we took preventative measures of greasing the hubs prior to my trip back to Mobile, Al. After all the paperwork was done my family and I got on the road rather late around 10 pm and unfortunately we did not make it very far before the two rear bearings/hubs went out on the tandem axle boat trailer. I was able to take the next exit off of I-10 and ended up on a dark and lonely stretch of hwy 90 in Holt Fl. My wife got on the phone and called Megan and told her the situation they quickly passed the phone to Glenn and I and a plan was hatched Glenn went to his shop and loaded his truck with several types of hubs, tools, grease everything needed to repair the trailer along with Megan, Mike and the family dog. They came to my family's aid at almost 12 o'clock midnight. Like a pit crew from NASCAR, they went to work with me trying to stay 1 step ahead of them and the repair was made as quick as possible while working in a darkened mom and pop deli/grocery parking lot.
In this day and age of fast food, poor customer service (while talking to a manufacturer's rep in some foreign country who barely speaks English) and tail light warranties, it was my pleasure and extreme good fortune to do business with Glenn Leatherman. I don't know too many business owner's who would come out to repair your boat trailer at midnight on the side of the road. I can say with no doubt in my mind this is an honest, hard working, man of his word. I work as a fire fighter for the City of Mobile, AL and on that night Glenn was my 911 call. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Glenn and his employees to anyone who needs any boat related repairs done to go see him it was my experience that he is very professional and fair.
Many Thanks and Gratitude for an awesome job!!!
Sincerely,
Mark Knox

This is a Bravo Zulu (job well done) to Glen Leatherman owner of ABC Marine located in Niceville Fl. Glenn is a professional marine applications repair and re-powering business owner that takes pride in the customer service he offers.
I am retired and a United states Coast Guard Auxiliarist. My personal boat is important to me and I work hard at overall maintenance. The boat is also a registered Coast Guard Facility experiencing a great deal of service as a safety Patrol and SAR vessel when operating under orders.
I was towed in weeks ago with a catastrophic engine failure and contacted Glenn at ABC Marine. He quickly assessed the engine damage and explained my situation. Recognizing my needs he worked up options for me to consider. We discussed these and decided to re-power with a new engine compared to re-build options.
ABC Marine also inspected and serviced the outdrive. I am impressed with the pride, support and service ABC mechanics strive to attain. Your work is checked over thoroughly as it progresses to the finish date. I am a pleased ABC Marine customer.
I have sent Glenn this letter so others may know that I think ABC Marine Niceville Fl. is a Marine business to consider for routine checkups and certainly necessary repairs or re-powering.
Thanks ABC technical staff!

Glenn,
Just a note of appreciation for the excellent service you rendered me for my boat, a MacGregor 26x, including:
1. Water retrieval and docking assistance - quick response, careful handling and attentive assistance by the two men you sent,
2. Motor cleaning and repair - thorough checkout, residue removal and transmission rebuild. Better than the company I previously used. The motor responds nicely and I haven't had any problem since. Your repair staff also courteously and informatively answered all my questions and provided helpful advice,
3. Additional requests - completed timely and well.
It was a pleasure doing business with you. My return visit to your new location (for a gasoline can fitting) reinforces my approval of your personal touch.
With every best wish,
Joe Phillip

Glenn,
I wanted to drop you a note and let you know how the boat
is doing. We just pulled it from storage, changed the oil,
fuel filter, and cleaned it up for the 2008 season. As I
expected, it cranked right up and sounded great. We can't
wait to get on the water.
I am so happy to include in this letter a blanket
recommendation for you and your services. The complete
replacement of my motor was unfortunate last year. You and
your team worked to get me back in the water with as
little down time as possible. When I spoke with you, the
communication was clear and helpful. The work was
performed well and I am confident no short-cuts were
taken. I have and will continue to offer a recommendation
of your shop to those I come in contact with. I do so
without hesitation and know you will treat them
respectfully and perform at your best.
It appears this coming weekend is one to be on the water.
We will take my Shamrock 30 miles and beyond without
thinking of engine performance. We can concentrate on the
fishing. Thanks again for all your help. You may pass my
contact information on to any prospective clients if they
would like to speak to me about your services. I will be
happy to provide input or assurance that the job will be
done right.

Glenn,
I'm back overseas now in Qatar, but I wanted to pass on to you and the folks who worked on my boat my appreciation for the outstanding work
your mechanics performed. I have been here in the Middle East now for 9 months and only had 15 days at home with the family before I had to
return. My kids had been looking forward to going out on the boat all summer long...I know it is a small boat, but our family has been
enjoying that boat for over 16 years. You can imagine the disappointment when we could not get it to run properly. However, after
picking the boat up from your shop we went out in it everyday and it ran just like a brand new one. It meant a lot to me to be able to enjoy the
kids having so much fun out on the boat. I just wanted you to know I will recommend your business anytime I run across someone having boat
trouble. It is truly refreshing to find a first rate business that can be trusted and stands behind its work.
Thank you for the fast and reliable service!

Thank you
for your help with my Cobra Outdrive. Other people I
called would have to work very hard to match your
professionalism and customer service. Your company was
both competitive in cost and customer friendliness. I look
forward to many hours of enjoyable boating with my new
outdrive. I will, without hesitation, recommend your
company to my friends.

I have been
negligent in writing and thanking you concerning the
outstanding job your team performed on my 25' MAKO.
Glenn's evaluation, recommendations, guidance and advice
were absolutely the greatest asset in helping me make my
decisions. He would give me pros and cons and then suggest
I do additional research before making my decision. His
advice was always right on target. Probably once or twice
he wished he had never taken the job as I would call and
ask about something else. When we were shopping for
motors, he would give me the right questions to ask and
make sure that people were giving the straight
information. His advice on the Yamahas was on the nose.
Even when I found a used pair (1 year old), several
thousand dollars cheaper, he reminded me that these were
not the fuel injected and that in the long run, I would be
spending more. His attention to the details of
coordinating the trasom and keel work with Dynamic
Fiberglass mounting the motors, and changing the console
layout inserts made the package even better. I was
impressed with the work Mike and his crew at Dynamic
Fiberglass performed. Great job!!
Mark is the greatest! On several occasions while the work
was progressing, I would drop by to check on things. I
found Mark's attention to details and thoroughness
refreshing. If he made a connection, he put electrical
sealer on it. He studied the manual and had a detailed
list to work from, and kept a check sheet of potential
issues to look for. When we took her out for the lake
test, he was extremely thorough in making sure everything
was just right and just the way I wanted it. It is obvious
that he takes great pride in his work! Something I greatly
appreciated.
Mike kept everything on schedule, on track, and kept me
informed as to where, when, and what I needed to do.
Whether it was to decide on some detail, find some unusual
replacement part, or get something. His coordination and
working schedule and details absolutely made the job go
great.
Between Christmas and New Years, I finally got to run the
boat. I was impressed! The boat jumped right up and out of
the water and pulled u on plane like never before. With
the counter rotating props and the higher transom the bow
is down where it should be and I don't have to stand on my
"tippy toes" to see over the bow when on plane
as with the old motors. She starts instantly and the
Yahamas are very quiet. (Something my wife loves about the
new motors, she doesn't have to yell to be heard). My
"bottom line" is getting a face-lift as I have
put on new rub rails and started replacing hatches and
other little things to dress her up a little more. I found
the original MAKO brown rub rails, stainless end caps
(with the shark) and am gradually replacing the teak trim
pieces with black "Starboard" to continue the
look started on the console.
You have the best assets a company could ever have and
anyone could ever ask for; dedicated, honest, and
conscientious employees. Glenn did it all while you were
out and did an outstanding job. You have a great team at
Boat Tune. I never trusted many people to perform
mechanical work because so many just slap it together, and
not conscientious about the details and I seriously wonder
about their honesty and integrity. Boat Tune is the
exception! I have always told my friends that Boat Tune is
the only place in town to go for repairs, because they are
honest and conscientious. Thanks again for the
wonderful job on 'my baby' and I wish Boat Tune and
outstanding century.

In February 2004, I
purchased a MAKO/135 Optimax from the Orlando store. I
arranged Pickup 8 days after ordering and purchasing to
have the vessel thoroughly checked out, because I live 325
miles from Bass Pro Shop in Orlando. When I arrived to
accept delivery the boat was filthy and had several minor
problems that should have already been resolved. For
example, a broken floor hatch, front locker latch and a
stern cleat was tarnished (the finish was obviously
flawed). I reluctantly accepted delivery, because I knew
that I would have to revisit Orlando in three weeks for a
business meeting. The boar also had the wrong seating
installed. I was given the chairs and told I would have to
replace them myself! He would have to charge me if Bass
Pro Shops replaced the seats. This was after being told on
the telephone of the exact specifications that I was
looking for I gave a deposit and agree upon a delivery
date a week later for ample time to prepare the boat. As I
previously said, it was not even washed!
Three weeks later, I returned to Orlando for an over
heating problem on the 135 Optimax. The tech, Roy Lesser
had scheduled to look at the engine, while I was in town.
He claimed to have repaired the engine.
After returning home (a 700 mile round trip) the boat
seemed to function okay until July 4, 2004, the overheat
sensory really went off. I called my local authorized
Mercury Dealer requested service because I was going on
vacation in four days in Destin, Florida. He worked on the
engine and even charged me because a warranty claim was a
hassle. On July 8, 2004 late afternoon, I arrived in
Destin and decided to take out my new boat. It ran three
miles out, overheated and I had to be towed in
($300.00).
It was now 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2004. I put the
boat on the trailer and pulled it to Bass Pro Shop in
Destin. Glenn, the service manager met me. I explained my
situation and how I was considering never doing business
with Bass Pro Shops again. (Did I mention this is the
second boat I purchased in three years, a total of $50K in
boats?) He explained the busy nature and he would
personally attempt to repair my boat Friday, July 9, 2004.
Glenn called at 10:00 a.m. to inform me of progress and
again at 12:00 p.m. to tell me that he was finished
repairing the engine and was taking it out to water test.
I went to Bass Pro Shops at 3:00 p.m. the boat was ready
to go. He explained that the water pump impellor was
defective and he did not understand how it had been
missed. I ran the boat on Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and
11, 2004 perfect water PSI that it never had before.
Glenn as other Service Departments are very busy this time
of year especially on a Friday, I really feel he should be
recognized for restoring the faith in a company such as
Bass Pro Shops. Due to Glenn, going to an extra effort I
and my family were able to salvage the remainder of the
weekend. Glenn also gave me a follow up call on Sunday,
July 11, 2004 to check on the performance of my boat.
Because of Glenn Leatherman,
I'll purchase another craft, and keep my business
relationship with Bass Pro Shops. Finally, due to my faith
in Glenn, I will trailer my boat to Destin Bass Pro Shop
for any further service. It is a 150 mile trip one way.
